Virginia HB231 renames the Autism Advisory Council to the Autism Commission, expanding its membership to include nine legislative members and three nonlegislative citizen members. The Commission will coordinate services for individuals with autism spectrum disorders, monitor action plans, and recommend policies and funding. The Commission will submit annual reports to the Governor and the General Assembly. The Commission will also have the power to request records and information from state agencies and political subdivisions.
