Introduced·1/9/26
Uced Text

Vermont S0233 establishes a special education family advocacy pilot program to support families of students with disabilities.

Vermont S0233 allocates $250,000.00 to the Agency of Human Services for a two-year pilot program. This program will award grants to develop special education family advocacy pilot programs. These programs aim to ensure families of kindergarten through grade 12 students have access to knowledgeable advocates to guide them through the individualized education program (IEP) process. The pilot program will also strengthen collaboration between schools and parents and help prevent costly disputes by addressing issues early.
