The Vermont General Assembly congratulates the 2026 Brattleboro Union High School mock trial team for winning the state championship. The team was recognized for their diligent preparation and outstanding performance in a criminal case involving charges of murder as an accessory and conspiracy to commit murder. The competition, which included drafting opening statements, direct and cross-examination questions, and closing arguments, took place at Vermont Law and Graduate School. The BUHS team was awarded first place honors by a panel of 15 judges from the federal and state judiciary.
