Expands the types of professionals who can serve as qualified mental health professionals in Vermont.
This bill expands the definition of qualified mental health professionals to include physicians, advance practice registered nurses specializing in psychiatric mental health, psychologists, social workers, clinical mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychoanalysts. It also allows minors to consent to outpatient mental health treatment without parental consent and removes the need for a parent or legal guardian's consent for outpatient treatment. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2026.
