Vermont H0701 amends the role of the Secretary of Education in managing schools not meeting quality standards.
Vermont H0701 amends the role of the Secretary of Education in managing schools not meeting quality standards. It requires any action recommended by the Secretary to correct deficiencies in education quality standard compliance to be supported by data. If the Secretary assumes control of a school, they must demonstrate within two years that the school has corrected the deficiencies that led to the Secretary’s recommendation. Failure to do so will result in the restoration of administrative control of the school to the school board.
