Vermont H0668 mandates clear terms for automatic renewal contracts and requires online termination options.
Vermont H0668 amends consumer contract laws to ensure automatic renewal contracts are transparent and consumer-friendly. Contracts with an initial term of one month or longer must clearly state renewal terms in bold-face type and require consumers to opt-in to automatic renewal. Consumers must be able to terminate the contract online in the same or a more easily accessible manner than acceptance, at least 60 days before renewal. The act takes effect on July 1, 2026.
