Expands the types of health care professionals who can certify emergency examinations in Vermont.

This bill proposes to expand the types of health care professionals that the Commissioner of Mental Health can designate to complete the first certification of an emergency examination. It allows for master’s social workers, clinical mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists to be included in the certification process. The bill amends the Vermont Statutes to include these professionals in the certification of mental illness for emergency examinations.
