Vermont H0250 amends state law to address perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in firefighting personal protective equipment and station wear. Effective July 1, 2026, manufacturers and sellers must provide written notices to purchasers if the equipment contains PFAS. The notices must state that the equipment contains PFAS and explain why PFAS are added. Effective July 1, 2028, the sale and distribution of personal protective equipment and station wear containing PFAS will be prohibited in Vermont.
