Clarifies eligibility for unemployment insurance for adjunct faculty between academic years.
This bill amends Vermont law to clarify that adjunct faculty members are eligible for unemployment insurance benefits between academic years if they do not have a reasonable assurance of future employment. It specifies that benefits are not payable if the individual earns at least 90 percent of their previous year's income, the offer of employment is not contingent on factors within the institution's control, and it is highly probable that a job is available. The act takes effect on July 1, 2025.
