Expands equal pay protections to include all protected classes in Vermont.
This bill amends Vermont's equal pay protections to ensure that employers cannot pay employees of one sex, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, religion, ancestry, place of birth, age, or crime victim status, or a qualified individual with a disability at a rate less than employees of another group for equal work. The bill allows for wage differentials based on a seniority system, merit system, quantity or quality of production, or a bona fide factor unrelated to the protected classes. The act takes effect on July 1, 2025.
