Establishes the Great Salt Lake Account within the General Fund for water management and conservation purposes.
This bill creates a restricted account within the General Fund called the Great Salt Lake Account. The account will receive revenues from mining royalties, appropriations, and interest earnings. The money in the account can be used to manage water levels of the Great Salt Lake, acquire or lease water or water rights, and fund water conservation projects. The bill also appropriates funds for fiscal year 2027, including $1,500,000 for the Great Salt Lake Commissioner and $198,500,000 for the Great Salt Lake Account. The bill takes effect on July 1, 2026.
