HB0359 establishes the Preceptor Fund to support health care providers who mentor students in medical programs.
HB0359 creates the Preceptor Fund, an expendable special revenue account, to support health care providers who mentor students in medical programs. The fund will receive gifts, grants, donations, and other contributions. The Department of Health and Human Services will use the fund to pay providers who mentor students in Utah-based medical schools, advance practice registered nurse programs, or physician assistant programs for at least 160 hours. The Division of Professional Licensing will allow health care providers to donate to the fund as part of their licensing process.
