Emily Ramirez, a teacher at Lake Highlands High School, has been named the 2025 International Educator of the Year by the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth. The award recognizes educators who enhance students' understanding of world affairs. Ramirez, with 13 years of experience, teaches AP World History and Mexican American Studies. She co-created the Global Awareness Speaker Series, bringing experts to campus, and has organized supply drives and disaster relief initiatives.
