The Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature pays tribute to the life of Barry Bradford Telford, a former state representative from De Kalb who passed away in 2024. Telford served nine terms in the Texas House of Representatives, where he held leadership roles and championed causes such as improving state employee benefits and expanding access to higher education. He was also instrumental in prison system reforms and rural development. The Barry B. Telford Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice was named in his honor.
