The Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature pays tribute to Ramon Jaramillo, who passed away on September 26, 2023, at age 72. Born in 1951, Jaramillo grew up on a family farm and graduated from high school in Devine in 1971. He attended the Texas Game Warden Academy, was stationed in Rockport, and later moved to Menard, where he bought a farm. Jaramillo conducted hunting programs for youth and volunteered at Camp Sol Mayer. He retired from his career as a game warden in 2008. Jaramillo leaves behind his wife, Diane, children Michael and Amanda, three grandchildren, and several siblings.
