Texas SB997 amends the duties of the district attorney for the 1st Judicial District to represent the state in district courts in San Augustine County. It also creates the office of district attorney for the 273rd Judicial District, to be elected by voters of Sabine County and represent the state in district courts in that county. The office exists for the 2028 elections and takes effect January 1, 2029.
