Texas SB916 amends the Health and Safety Code to add consumer protections for medical and health care billing by emergency medical services providers. The bill allows the department to revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew a provider's license or certificate if the provider intentionally submitted incorrect information or engaged in a pattern of violations. The bill also amends the Insurance Code to adjust rates submitted under Section 38.006 by not more than the Medicare Ambulance Inflation Factor or 10 percent of the provider's previous calendar year rates.
