Texas SB866 modifies the Government Code to allow judges and judicial officers to be exempt from training on family violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and child abuse if they file an affidavit stating they do not handle such cases. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals will implement these changes through new rules. This Act will take effect on September 1, 2025.
