Texas SB865 amends the Education Code to require school nurses, athletic coaches, physical education instructors, and other specified school employees to receive instruction and maintain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of automated external defibrillators. This applies to school district, private school, and open-enrollment charter school employees and volunteers. The policy must comply with commissioner rules, including those set by Subsection (c). This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.
