Texas SB833 amends health benefit plan coverage for in vitro fertilization procedures.
Texas SB833 amends the Insurance Code to establish conditions for health benefit plan coverage of in vitro fertilization procedures. Coverage is required if the patient is covered under the group health benefit plan, has a history of infertility, has tried less costly infertility treatments without success, and the procedure is performed at a facility meeting American Society for Reproductive Medicine standards. The changes apply to health benefit plans delivered, issued for delivery, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
