Texas SB774 amends the Education Code to allow excused absences for students with menstrual disorders, such as dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, menorrhagia, or polycystic ovary syndrome. Absences under this provision cannot be penalized and must be counted as attendance for calculating average daily attendance. Students must be allowed a reasonable time to make up missed school work.
