Texas SB710 allows municipal governing bodies to establish and use an online message board for public communication.
Texas SB710 amends the Government Code to allow the governing body of a municipality to authorize a commission or other entity to establish and use an online message board or similar Internet application for public communication. The use of such a board or application can be authorized for up to two years and may be reauthorized as needed. The board or application must be owned or controlled by the governmental body, prominently displayed on the governmental body's primary Internet web page, and no more than one click away from the primary page.
