Texas SB695 requires consumer reporting agencies to notify consumers when inaccurate information in their files is corrected.
Texas SB695 amends the Business & Commerce Code to mandate that consumer reporting agencies ensure corrections to inaccurate information in a consumer's file are made promptly. If a consumer provides an email address, the agency must email the consumer a link to securely obtain a corrected copy of their credit report within 30 business days of the correction. This change applies to corrections submitted to the agency on or after the effective date of the Act, which is September 1, 2025.
