SB65 amends the Local Government Code to enable counties with a population of 265,000 or more to adopt and enforce uniform work hours for department heads, assistants, deputies, and other employees whose compensation is set by the commissioners court. The act takes effect immediately if approved by two-thirds of the members in each legislative house; otherwise, it will take effect on September 1, 2025.
