Texas SB587 amends the Education Code to change the terms for members of the state executive committee of the University Interscholastic League. Members will now be appointed for staggered three-year terms, with approximately one-third of the members' terms expiring each June 30. Additionally, a person may not serve more than two terms on the committee. The commissioner of education is required to adopt rules necessary to implement these changes as soon as practicable after the Act's effective date of September 1, 2025.
