Provides paid leave for state employees for the birth or adoption of a child.

This bill amends the Government Code to allow certain state employees to take paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child. The leave applies to employees who are members of the Employees Retirement System of Texas or employed by an executive branch agency. The leave can be taken for the birth of a child, the birth of a child by the employee's spouse, the birth of a child by a gestational surrogate, or the adoption of a child. The changes take effect on September 1, 2025.
