Texas SB475 creates a classroom safety review and referral program for students engaging in violent criminal conduct.
Texas SB475 amends the Education Code to establish a classroom safety review and referral program for students who engage in violent criminal conduct. If a principal believes a student has engaged in such conduct, they must refer the student to a classroom safety review committee or report the incident to law enforcement. The review committee, consisting of five teachers, interviews witnesses and reviews evidence before referring the student to a juvenile diversion administrator or the classroom safety referral board.
