This bill creates the office of district attorney for the 273rd Judicial District, which will be elected by voters of Sabine County. It also modifies the duties of the district attorney for the 1st Judicial District, which will now be elected by voters of San Augustine County. The office of district attorney for the 273rd Judicial District will exist for the primary and general elections in 2028. The bill takes effect on January 1, 2029.
