Texas SB433 amends the Family Code to allow individuals who were adjudicated by a juvenile court for conduct constituting a misdemeanor to apply for expunction of those records once they turn 18. The juvenile court must issue an order of expunction within 30 days of receiving the application. The Texas Juvenile Justice Department will establish the application process for this expunction. This law applies to offenses regardless of when they occurred, and it takes effect September 1, 2025.
