Texas SB382 amends the Education Code to prohibit school districts and open-enrollment charter schools from using artificial intelligence technology to provide instruction to students or to replace or supplement a teacher's role in providing instruction or interacting with students. This prohibition applies starting with the 2025-2026 school year. The act can take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in both legislative houses, otherwise it will take effect on September 1, 2025.
