Establishes an election integrity division in the office of the attorney general to investigate election fraud.
The bill creates an election integrity division within the office of the attorney general. This division will investigate reports of election fraud and offenses under the Election Code. It can use available funds or those appropriated to it and may request assistance from state law enforcement agencies. The division has the authority to issue administrative subpoenas to political subdivisions, compelling the production of information, documents, or the attendance and testimony of witnesses. The act takes effect September 1, 2025.
