Texas SB3001 amends the Government Code to require contracts with Medicaid managed care organizations to permit the organizations to offer medically appropriate, cost-effective, evidence-based nutrition counseling and instruction services in lieu of other state Medicaid plan services. The state Medicaid managed care advisory committee can only include nutrition counseling and instruction services in the approved list, excluding home-delivered meals, food prescriptions, and grocery support.
