Texas SB2829 amends operations of municipal hospital authorities, including board director terms and asset use.
Texas SB2829 amends the Health and Safety Code to change how municipal hospital authorities operate. It allows the number of directors to be changed by the ordinance creating the authority unless restricted by a resolution authorizing bonds or a trust indenture. The term of directors cannot be shortened by reducing the number of directors. The governing body appoints initial directors for up to two years. If the authority includes more than one municipality, each governing body appoints an equal number of directors unless they agree otherwise.
