SB2816 amends the Texas Election Code to require the general custodian of election records to conduct a manual count of all races in selected precincts or countywide polling places using electronic voting systems. The secretary of state selects these precincts or polling places and designates up to three offices and propositions for the count. The manual count must begin within 72 hours after polls close and be completed by the 21st day after election day. The custodian must post a notice of the count on the county's website. This act takes effect September 1, 2025.
