SB2785 amends the Texas Family Code to allow a district attorney to request notification of reports of suspected child abuse or neglect. If the district attorney makes such a request, the department must immediately notify the district attorney of any such reports. Upon request, the department must also forward a copy of the report and all investigation information, including confidential information, to the district attorney within 30 days. The information provided to the district attorney is exempt from public disclosure and may only be disclosed for specific criminal procedure purposes.
