Texas SB2728 requires the Health and Human Services Commission to annually notify managed care organizations and health care providers about using a mother's Medicaid identification number for newborn children until the child is enrolled in Medicaid. It also mandates that hospitals, birthing centers, physicians, and midwives provide resource pamphlets to mothers and fathers or caregivers, including information on postpartum depression, immunizations, and sudden infant death syndrome. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
