Texas SB2707 amends the Transportation Code to exempt vehicles owned by municipalities and counties from certain oversize or overweight vehicle permit fees and surety requirements. The Texas Department of Transportation may also exempt vehicles owned by other governmental entities from these requirements through rule. Additionally, the department may waive permit fees and surety requirements, including bonds or letters of credit, for governmental entities. The bill takes effect September 1, 2025.
