Texas SB250 amends the Local Government Code to allow a municipality to annex an additional area adjacent to a contiguous railroad right-of-way, provided the area is next to a railway line running parallel to the municipality's boundaries and each owner agrees. This annexation is in addition to areas being annexed under other subchapters. The act takes effect immediately if approved by two-thirds of the members in both houses, otherwise it becomes effective September 1, 2025.
