Allows certain Texas counties to participate in groundwater management planning.
This bill amends the Texas Water Code to allow counties that are located wholly or partly in a groundwater management area but do not have a district within their boundaries to participate in joint planning for the management area. A county can designate a representative to participate in the planning process, who can present information on groundwater resources and availability. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas Water Development Board must provide technical assistance to the county to further its interests in the planning process.
