Texas SB2483 amends the Health and Safety Code and the Human Resources Code to require the child health plan to cover up to four maternal depression screenings for an enrollee's mother, and for Medicaid to reimburse up to four screenings for a recipient's mother. These screenings must occur during a well-child or other office visit before the child's first birthday. If a waiver or authorization from a federal agency is needed, implementation may be delayed until granted. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
