Texas SB2462 mandates an interim study on property and casualty insurance costs for public schools.
Texas SB2462 requires the State Office of Risk Management, in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency, to conduct an interim study on the costs of insuring public school real property. The study will examine the total insurable value of each building or facility, the costs of property damage incurred during the preceding 10 years, the cost of property and casualty insurance, and the protocols for replacing or repairing damaged property. The Office will collect information and solicit input from risk pools in which school districts and open-enrollment charter schools participate.
