Texas SB2370 requires the comptroller to estimate and report lost revenue to school districts if the local property value is deemed invalid.
Texas SB2370 amends the Government Code to mandate that the comptroller of public accounts, in consultation with the commissioner of education, estimate the lost revenue for a school district when the local value for the district is not valid. The comptroller must then provide this estimate to the district's board of trustees. This applies to studies conducted under Section 403.302, Government Code, for tax years beginning on or after the effective date of the Act, which is January 1, 2026.
