Texas SB2367 restricts certain counties from enacting park use rules on fireworks.
Texas SB2367 amends the Local Government Code to limit the authority of specific counties to enact park use rules. This bill applies to counties with populations of 2.8 million or more, 800,000 or more adjacent to a 2.8 million population county, more than 550,000 and less than 620,000, or less than 75,000 adjacent to three counties with populations over 450,000. Notably, boards created for counties fitting the second or fourth criteria cannot adopt rules regarding fireworks use. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
