Texas SB2343 requires municipalities and counties to allow report submitters to correct defects before denial.
Texas SB2343 amends the Local Government Code to mandate that any municipality or county operating an online law enforcement reporting system must give individuals a chance to fix any issues in their submitted reports before denying them. This applies to systems that electronically record, store, manage, and analyze law enforcement reports, whether run directly by the municipality or county or by a third party. The law takes effect September 1, 2025.
