Prevents discrimination in foster care based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
The bill amends the Family Code to prohibit the Health and Human Services Commission, the department, a single source continuum contractor, and any other person from discriminating or taking adverse action against a person based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression in relation to child welfare services, including foster home licensure, verification, and child placement. The changes take effect September 1, 2025.
