Texas SB2256 amends the definition of ectopic pregnancy to include implantation outside the uterus or in certain intrauterine locations. Before administering abortion-inducing drugs, physicians must examine the pregnant woman, verify the pregnancy, document the gestational age and location, determine the woman's blood type, offer Rh immunoglobulin for Rh-negative women, and ensure the pregnancy is not over 49 days old. The act takes effect September 1, 2025, or immediately if approved by a two-thirds vote.
