Texas SB2123 allows the Texas Water Development Board to provide financial assistance for brackish water desalination to certain counties.
Texas SB2123 amends the Water Code to expand the authority of the Texas Water Development Board. The board can now provide financial assistance for brackish water desalination to counties with a population greater than 250,000, located on an international border, and wholly or partly in a management area without a groundwater conservation district within its boundaries. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
