Texas SB212 amends the Water Code to require that public meetings and hearings concerning permits for facilities be held in person and at a public location within one mile of the facility or, if not possible, within five miles. The applicant for the permit, permit amendment, or permit renewal must cover the costs of these meetings and hearings. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality can establish payment procedures. This provision applies only to applications submitted after the bill's effective date of September 1, 2025.
