Texas SB2015 amends the Utilities Code to allow municipal governing bodies to require certificated telecommunications utilities and holders of a state-issued certificate of franchise authority to relocate their facilities in municipal public rights-of-way at the municipality's expense. This is to permit the widening or straightening of a street or to accommodate another municipal project. The municipality must give the utility or holder at least 30 days' notice and specify the new location for the facility along the right-of-way. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
