Texas SB1992 amends the Local Government Code to mandate that the governing body of a municipality and the commissioners court of a county display "In God We Trust" on the outside of each building owned, leased, or used by the municipality or county. This requirement applies only if the signage bearing the phrase is donated to the municipality or county. The donor must also cover any necessary installation fees. The bill specifies that compliance must occur as soon as practicable after the effective date.
